When Mahibah composed her first poem while she studied in Std. II, we were surprised, but definitely, with a feeling of happiness. We appreciated her creativity. We brought her a hardbound notebook, which she calls the ‘Manuscript Book’, so that her thoughts could be assimilated to derive the meanings of life. In recent years, we have cherished her spontaneity and inherent flair for writing. Besides poetry, she could be writing a short documentary on a new flower in our balcony, or experimenting with words – known or new – to explain her thoughts. We recall an instance when she was yet to begin her primary schooling. She got so interested in Japanese culture that she often studied about Japan, the cities, the cuisines and few Japanese words. Of course, Doraemon was the inspiration! And within a couple of years, she could talk about the famous Japanese poetry genre – Haiku.
As Mahibah turns 10, we present to her this collection of poems, so well composed by her between 2015 and 2018. We wish her a happy life always.
