This book is the result of research in the field of primary education. Primary education is said to be the foundation of human life. The positive outlook about the life, the right attitude about self and others, awareness about the environment around the child and the role of the child in the society get shape at this stage. Instead of forcing a child to acquire knowledge, the learning environment would create such a setting that would stimulate all the senses of the learners to facilitate thirst for knowledge. Our present primary education emphasises on cognitive domain which results in people with highly intellectual and competitive mentality. Affective domain addressing co-operation, compassion, love, relationship, showing concerns for others are less emphasised in the curriculum. Primary curriculum must integrate the natural psychology of the child with all its components. Curriculum is not merely an academic subject of instruction or course of study that the school will utilise to mould a child. Curriculum is the totality of experiences that a child receives in his/her whole school life in the form of various inputs that touches the life of the child at all points. The curriculum must leave the scope for children to utilise their full potentialities and help in gradual unfolding of a balanced personality. The quality education comprises learners, contents, learning experiences, learning environment, teaching-learning techniques, teacher and evaluation. All aspects are equally important to develop a whole child that would integrate physical well- being, mental strength, emotional stability, proper social orientation, spirit of morality and spiritual elevation.
