The entire world has had been witnessing the invincible foe of humanity in the form of Coronavirus or COVID-19 and eventually it was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation. Across the globe, such an unprecedented shock not only called for a health emergency, but disrupted activities in other sectors too. In India the pandemic induced nationwide lockdown disproportionately impacted all the sectors of the economy. The entire economy was reeling under severe economic, social, financial crisis. The vulnerable and marginalised sections of the society, the disadvantaged class living below the poverty line had to bear the brunt of the pandemic to the maximum extent. Extensive researches have been going on with the intention to capture issues associated with this pandemic. This book contributes to the existing literature by exploring the multidimensional impact of the pandemic-induced lockdown on the Indian economy and society and thereby trace the road ahead. The edited volume consists of 20 research papers contributing to
