The International conference titled ʻSantiniketan – A Bridge between India and Japan & Various Aspects of Japanʼ organized by the Department of Japanese, Visva-Bharati in November 2022, was graced with the presence of esteemed academicians and promising new researchers in the field. This conference provided a cornucopia of knowledge, new findings and vastly thoughtful insights about the intricacies of the longstanding relationship between India and Japan, as well as the complex nuances within it. Ranging from the arrival of Buddhism in Japan in the sixth century, to the present condition of women in the Japanese workforce, the papers in the conference were multifarious. Since the very beginning of the twentieth century, Santiniketan has played a major role in strengthening both the people-topeople exchange and the Academic ties between Japan and India. Throughout the conference Santiniketan was the unwavering tune that held the discussions together, thereby justifying the title of the conference. Most of the riveting papers presented in the conference have been compiled in this volume. I hope that the papers will stimulate further research on Japanese Studies in various aspects and will be a source of authentic information to lovers of Japanese Studies.
